Troldtekt based on FUTURECEM™ with a lower carbon footprint
The cement in Troldtekt cement-bonded wood wool gives the acoustic panels their strength, durability and effective fire performance. But cement also accounts for almost the entire carbon footprint of the acoustic panels. FUTURECEM from Aalborg Portland exploits the synergies between calcined clay and lime filler. In this way, much of the burnt clinker in the cement can be replaced.
Looking at the product’s entire life cycle, Troldtekt acoustic panels based on FUTURECEM have a carbon footprint that is:
• 26 per cent lower than Troldtekt based on grey cement
• 38 per cent lower than Troldtekt based on white cement
You get the same good acoustics, effective fire performance and natural strength as with our classic panels.
Troldtekt is Cradle to Cradle Certified at Gold level
The vision behind Cradle to Cradle is a world where manufacturers design their products for a circular economy – i.e. that materials can be incorporated into new cycles.
All Troldtekt acoustic panels in natural wood and painted in standard colours, including the non-combustible A2 acoustic panels and new Troldtekt panels based on FUTURECEM, are Cradle to Cradle Certified at Gold level.
Decisive for the certification at the Gold level was that the new colour recipes for the standard colours white, grey and even black were used in our production.
Troldtekt has been Cradle to Cradle Certified at Gold level since 2022.
