Troldtekt honoured for transparent CSR report

Troldtekt’s CSR report for 2023 has been honoured in the best class – Excellence Class – at the ESG Transparency Award ceremony. The German consultancy firm EUPD Research is behind the award, in which Troldtekt scores high on good corporate governance practices, among other things.

There is a need to highlight those companies that are leading the way in documenting and talking openly about their sustainability initiatives. One of these companies is Troldtekt that has now been assessed by EUPD Research on the basis of Troldtekt’s CSR report for 2023.

The German consulting firm is behind the ESG Transparency Award, and this year the award also includes companies outside Germany. Troldtekt has achieved a place in the best category, Excellence Class.

"I’m proud that we’ve made the cut to stand alongside such prestigious company. We have published CSR reports every year since 2010 and have continuously changed the format so that the reports reflect our evolution in environmental, social and governance issues," says Tina Snedker Kristensen, Head of Sustainability and Communications at Troldtekt A/S.   

Assessed in five categories

The research institute EUPD Research has close to 25 years of experience in sectors working with sustainability – for example, the energy industry. They have translated this experience into a model that evaluates CSR reports in five categories.

Three of the categories are the well-known terms E, S and G, which cover environmental, social and corporate governance issues. In addition, there are the categories of transparency and guideline compliance.

"We have been working strategically with the Cradle to Cradle design concept since 2012. Since then, we have focused on trustworthy reporting with regard to both progress and challenges. I'm pleased that the assessment reflects just that," says Tina Snedker Kristensen.

"Since Troldtekt became part of the Kingspan Group in 2022, we've had access to a number of governance tools and global audit systems that further strengthen our ESG work. This is also reflected in our score," she adds.

In line with new EU directive

The evaluation categories are in line with the new EU reporting directive, which comes into force from 2024. EUPD Research also links the upcoming regulations to their award:

"With the entry into force of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), sustainability is becoming mandatory for more and more European corporations and medium-sized organisations. The ESG Transparency Award honours those organisations that have already anchored forward-looking sustainability concepts within their organisations today and communicate them transparently in the form of a sustainability report."

FACTS ABOUT THE ESG TRANSPARENCY AWARD

• ·          The ESG Transparency Award celebrates transparency in ESG/CSR reports as well as the goals and metrics included in the reports. To achieve Excellence Class honours, a report must score at least 75 out of 100.
