A meeting place with the wow factor
Kulturhof Stanggass is an extraordinary meeting place nestled in picturesque Berchtesgadener Land with a view of the Alps. It is a place that harmoniously joins people and nature, tradition and modernity, and sustainability and design.
According to investor Dr. Bartl Wimmer and his team, in addition to the hotel, cuisine and events, the pillars of the Kulturhof Stanggass in Bischofswiesen include creativity and movement. In cooperation with Arc Architekten Partnerschaft mbB, Wimmer has successfully created a meeting place at the foot of the majestic Watzmann and Hochkalter peaks for both locals and visitors to come together and enjoy one another’s company. The venue includes an inn with a beer garden, a hotel, a sauna house and pond for swimming, a large ballroom as well as seminar buildings, which also house a yoga studio and a co-working space.
Impressive views of breathtaking peaks
At the heart of the impressive ensemble are the two gable-roofed houses whose gables face the valley and whose cantilevered upper floors with wooden façades are perched atop a ground floor boasting plenty of glass; the houses are a modern interpretation of the traditional Bavarian farmhouse. Thanks to its many large windows, the entire complex offers magnificent panoramic views of the mountains, while fitting in perfectly with the surroundings.
Sustainable and future-friendly with local moon wood
As sustainability and future-friendly building play a central role both in the realisation of the Kulturhof and in its ongoing operation, a lot of local, traditionally-felled moon wood processed in an on-site sawmill is used in all of the buildings. Even the wood for the woodchip heating comes from the region’s forest.
The interior of the Kulturhof features natural materials like clay and a lot of light and natural wood, predominantly on the floor, walls and ceiling, creating a natural, pleasant atmosphere. When selecting the stylish materials, the designers also made sure that they were locally sourced and sustainably produced. In keeping with the overall design, Troldtekt acoustic panels were also chosen.
