Better acoustics in the barracks
Ryes Barracks in Fredericia has gradually made improvements to its buildings with a focus on acoustics.
In some temporary buildings built in the 1950s at Ryes Barracks, white Troldtekt panels were installed in most of the ceilings. The buildings are designed for staff leisure activities. The acoustics were very poor, making it difficult to converse, especially in larger gatherings.
The acoustics have improved significantly after installing Troldtekt panels. In some rooms, Troldtekt panels are installed between the ceiling beams, thus blending into an existing module, while in other rooms they are installed under the beams to create a uniform, homogeneous surface.
Improved working conditions
In 2022, the Ryes barracks had some new mixed-use buildings with mixed functions built to create a significant boost for the barracks and the Joint Signal Regiment. At the bottom of the buildings are garages, while the upper floor is reserved for staff facilities such as bathrooms and changing rooms, training, storage and technical rooms, as well as office workstations. Troldtekt has also been used here to ensure good acoustics.
