How Troldtekt works with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals
UN member countries have adopted 17 common goals to ensure the balancing of the environmental and economic dimensions of sustainable development.
At Troldtekt, we naturally support all 17 goals, but we have chosen to focus our initiatives on the four goals where we can make the biggest difference.
Focus on resources and biodiversity
It is still crucial for us that we manage to translate the goals into concrete action in our business. For example, producing acoustic panels in Denmark is not going to eliminate world poverty or stop hunger.
However, we operate in an industry that accounts for about 40 per cent of society’s resource and energy consumption, and we can therefore make a difference by supporting SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production.
As a large buyer of raw wood, we are also in a position to make choices that can help combat the loss of biodiversity in forests – thus helping to realise SDG 15: Life on land.
Healthy construction and valuable partnerships
SDG 12 and SDG 15 were therefore the first goals we started looking at back in 2018. Since then, we have added SDG 3: Good health and well-being and SDG 17: Partnerships for the goals, because we are also able to take actions that can make a difference in these two areas.
